Arya Bolurfrushan is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of AppliedAI, an enterprise artificial intelligence company headquartered in Abu Dhabi. AppliedAI builds a platform for designing, running and supervising AI-powered workflows in regulated, high-consequence industries, including banking, insurance, healthcare, industrials and the public sector.
Approach
The company's operating thesis is that artificial intelligence matters only when it changes measurable business outcomes. Its work centres on supervised automation: AI agents executing high-volume operational work under structured human oversight, so that institutions in regulated sectors can adopt automation without giving up control, auditability or accountability.
Earlier career
Arya began his career at Goldman Sachs in New York, in the Investment Strategy Group, covering private equity and technology. He later held senior executive roles at RAK Petroleum plc through the company's listing on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
Education
He holds BSc and MSc degrees in Information Systems Management from Carnegie Mellon University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
